The Health and Environment Initiative is a collaborative research program launched through a partnership between the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and the Kahn-Sagol-Maccabi (KSM) Research and Innovation Center. The program aims to promote cross-disciplinary research on disease prevention, diagnostics, screening, and treatment, with a specific interest in environmental determinants of human health and disease. Our goal is to improve etiological understanding, advance public health knowledge, and develop disease prevention strategies through evidence-based research.

This international partnership amplifies the research expertise of the Harvard Chan, KSM, and other domestic and global partners, by facilitating the open exchange of ideas, questions, and methods. This research expertise coupled with Maccabi’s unique database enables researchers the opportunity to explore complicated questions on exogenous and endogenous determinants of human health.
