We’re looking for a Deputy Director of Epidemiological Research

Job Overview

As a deputy director, you will lead and manage an experienced team of researchers , conducting health data research .

Your role will include managerial and professional responsibilities, ensuring quality, time and budget deliverables, with a focus on professional excellency and innovative approach. You will work closely with local and global partners providing scientific leadership for observational real world studies.

The deputy manager will oversee dozens of running research projects , balancing high standards, sound methodological approaches and scope considerations, devising a roadmap catered to each study and partner.

Responsibilities

  • planning, assigning, and directing the team’s work; performance review and professional development; employee management, addressing employee relations, needs and problem resolution.
  • Review and provides methodological input and guidance to the analysis plan, while considering different analytical approaches and data-driven complexities.
  • Review research protocols, reports and other study documents with independent, critical thinking to ensure quality and completeness of output, overseeing timeline deliverables associated with study reporting.
  • Lead partner’s engagements throughout the study process; follow up with partners post-delivery to ensure satisfaction and delivery of high-value, high-impact studies.
  • Support KSM’s senior executive team on specific research initiatives.
  • Help define and provide appropriate levels of professional development and training for staff.
  • Assist in budget planning for the department
  • Represents KSM externally through conference presentations.
  • Identify client-related, budget-related and internal issues that may require attention or escalation.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Epidemiology or related discipline (preferred)
  • MPH or Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related discipline – required
  • 10+ years of experience leading real world observational studies
  • Experience in team management
  • Experience in statistical programming
  • Excellent communication skills, contributes to building a positive work environment
  • Highly organized and adaptable to change
  • Fluent in English
